EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
October 1998 to present - I started working as a general assistant for Brown's Catering in 1998. My duties included, loading equipment for transport to the function hall, assisting the chef(s), washing up, and returning equipment to storage afterwards. During my time with Brown's Catering, I have progressed to Assistant Banqueting Manager, where my responsibilities have been extended to cover waiting on customers, staff co-ordination, customer enquiries, equipment selection, and overseeing and aiding pre-function set up.
September 2002 - I.T. Technician. After completing one weeks work experience in June 2000, I returned to Southgate College, to help clear the backlog of tasks that needed to be completed before the start of the new term. My duties included installing new computers, repairing faults in older computers, such as faulty hardware or corrupted software installations, installing new software, configuring BIOS settings, checking security settings, constructing UTP network cables.
Summer 2001 - Painter and decorator. My Duties included repainting many parts of the school, moving new equipment to its new location and general preparation of the school for the next academic year.
October 2000 to July 2001 - Lunchtime Supervisor. My duties included supervising the pupils during their lunch breaks, to make sure they were not causing trouble or in danger, as well as clearing the dining hall afterwards.
INTERESTS AND HOBBIES
In my spare time, I enjoy writing programs to perform useful functions that I do not already have software to do. Programs I have written, include a web server, an IRC bot, a graphical front-end to the Windows net send program, and a simple model of an artificial neural network. I also build and program small robots using a Lego Mindstorms kit, which help me to learn about mechanics and problem solving. I am currently attempting to build a home made antenna, to extend the capabilities of my wireless network card at a fraction of the cost of a commercial antenna.
